Grooming during cold, heavy snow conditions can cause serious air filter issues. Light snow dust is much like fine dirt—more troubling once the snow melts and the air filter element is waterlogged. The filter can freeze creating turbo or engine damage. To combat these issues, we have adapted two standard equipment components on our trail groomers: the intake pre cleaner and air diverter valve. The Turbo Pre cleaner has a small impeller that displaces the particles before they are ingested, which is incredibly effective in most conditions. The Tucker Sno-Cat® built diverter valve gives the operator the ability to bypass the cold air intake and draw from under hood air. This option is an under hood manual valve which allows the operator to easily switch the intake back to cold air once the conditions have improved. Tucker Sno-Cat® is continuously adapting to the ever changing, and sometimes severe, winter conditions.
