When replacing the fluids in your vehicle, use the same types of fluids that came from the factory. If you are currently running synthetic lubrication, you must continue to use synthetic lubrication. Do not mix any synthetic lubricant with an oil-based lubricant.
FILLING RECOMMENDATIONS: ALL FLUID CHECKS MUST BE PERFORMED ON A LEVEL SURFACE
- ENGINE – Use the dipstick to gauge the level of fluid. The vehicle must not be running when checking the engine oil level and must have been off for a minimum of one hour.
- TRANSMISSION – Use the dipstick to gauge the level of fluid. The vehicle must be running and in the neutral position when being checked. The transmission must be at operating temperature to get an accurate reading.
- TRANSFER CASE – Use the sight glass to gauge the level of fluid. The oil should be at the halfway point of the sight glass after the machine has not moved for 15 minutes. Use the fill plug to gauge the level of fluid. The oil should come just to the bottom of the hole.
- HYDRAULIC TANK – Use the top sight glass to gauge the level of fluid. The oil should be at the halfway point of the sight glass when the fluid is cold.
- DIFFERENTIALS – Use the fill plug to gauge the level of fluid. The oil should come just to the bottom of the hole.
- DIFFERENTIALS WITH MAG HYTEC COVER – Use the fill plug dipstick to gauge the level of fluid. The oil should come to the second line on the stick.
- WHEELS – Use the sight glass to gauge the level of fluid. The oil should be right at the one-third point of the sight glass after the machine has not moved for at least one hour.
- COOLANT SURGE TANK – Should be filled to the halfway point of the sight glass when fluid is cold. Check regularly after a coolant flush has been completed until levels remain consistent.
