As the summer sun melts away the winter snow, your Tucker Sno-Cat® will be taking a well-deserved break. Preventing moisture buildup is key to maintaining your SnoCat® vehicle’s integrity and performance during the off-season. Here’s a guide to checking for moisture and preventing damage during the summer season:

  • If storing the Sno-Cat® outdoors, invest in a high-quality, breathable cover to protect it from moisture in the air. Make sure the cover is securely fastened to prevent water from seeping in.
  • Inspect all grease points, differentials, and transfer case. Grease everything. Top off all fluids. This helps keep any moisture out of these locations.
  • Check the seals on all windows. Look for cracks or missing silicone. Touch up or replace if needed.
  • Moisture can wreak havoc on electrical systems. Inspect all wiring, connectors, and electrical components for any signs of corrosion or water damage. Especially connections on the exposed portions of the Sno-Cat®.
  • Check the battery regularly and keep it charged to prevent it from being damaged by moisture or extreme temperatures.
Taking proactive measures to check for moisture and prevent damage during the summer off-season can prolong the life of your Sno-Cat® and ensure it’s ready to hit the trails when winter returns. By incorporating these simple steps into your maintenance routine, you can keep your Sno-Cat® dry, functional, and ready for action year after year.
