Securing Hoses and Lines
When it comes to operating and maintaining your Tucker Sno-Cat® vehicle, attention to small details can make a big difference in reliability and performance. One of the most overlooked but critical details is how you secure hoses and lines.
The image shows clear evidence of what happens when hoses are loosely zip-tied together. Over time, vibration and movement cause them to rub against each other or nearby surfaces. This abrasion can quickly wear through protective coverings and eventually damage the hose itself. In a worst-case scenario, this can lead to leaks, failures, and expensive downtime.
Tips for Securing Hoses Correctly

Use the right size zip tie – big enough to hold firmly without cutting into the hose.

Tighten until snug – the hoses should be secure enough that you cannot easily twist or slide them by hand.

Check regularly – during inspections, look for any signs of rubbing or slack in your ties.

Use protective wrap – in high-wear areas, abrasion sleeves or spiral wrap can add protection.

Anchor to solid points – whenever possible, secure hoses to brackets or mounts instead of letting them hang freely.
